Birth Education Classes

(www.thenewyorkdoula.com) -a German educated midwife, acupuncturist and US licensed doula - is offering a childbirth education class in German for expecting parents in the New York City area.
Topics to be covered during class:
- Creating a Birth Plan
- Medical Terms used in English vs. German
- Partner’s role during labor
- Relaxation and breathing techniques
- Stages of labor
- Techniques to ease pain and discomfort
- Pros and cons of pain medication
- Nutrition during pregnancy, help with pregnancy discomfort
- Postpartum recovery
- Caring for and (breast)feeding your newborn child
- Practical handouts
Dates: Saturday, September 22nd
Time: 12:30-4:30PM
Location: Simple Studios, 134 W 29th Street (btw 6th & 7th)
Fee: $180 per couple
In case Stephanie needs to attend a birth, the class will be postponed to Saturday, September 29th, 2012.
Note: Snacks and drinks are provided during class, or you can bring your own. There will be two 10-15 minute breaks for food, but feel free eat whenever you (or your baby...) feel like it!
