Meet our Experts Dr. Simone Bruemmer

Dr. Simone Brümmer is the Head of the Lower School at German International School New York in White Plains, New York, just 25 miles north of New York City, where for the past four years she has enjoyed building an outstanding teaching faculty.  More recently, Dr. Brümmer developed and introduced GIS’s bilingual pre-kindergarten program for 3- and 4-year-olds, which reached full enrollment within just months of the program’s announcement.  Prior to GIS, Dr. Brümmer worked as a member of the administration at a school in Schleswig Holstein, as a member of a German research team that studied “International Achievement Motivation”, and as a teacher at the German School on Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas.  She is passionate about instilling social responsibility and a global perspective in her students while ensuring they receive an academically excellent and well-rounded bilingual education in a supportive, nurturing environment.  Dr. Brümmer holds an undergraduate teaching degree and a doctorate in psychology from the University of Flensburg in Germany.
