“MusiKinderlein New York“ is a German music program for our youngest ones. Babies and toddlers accompanied by a parent or caregiver will learn German traditional and modern children’s songs as well as Kniereiter (finger plays) and will be introduced to different musical instruments.
After a few months of maternity leave in the summer and fall of 2017, Jana is excited to be back with MusiKinderlein classes in winter 2018!
This program is not only for children who already speak or hear German at home but can also be a start to make learning the German language more fun. Isn’t everything more fun when you sing it?
In addition to the German songs, other materials will be used such as scarves, bubbles and hand puppets to grasp your little one’s attention.
Why all this? There are so many reasons for introducing music at an early age …
Music stimulates the senses, promotes creativity and self-confidence while encouraging interaction with other kids at the same time.
But the most important reason is that music is fun!

About the Teacher
Jana was born and raised in Germany, but has also been living in France and New York for the past 5 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Music and Media as well as a Master’s in Cultural Management. Jana taught Music, French and German at several schools in Germany and New York in the past years.
After having a child of her own here in New York, Jana knew she wanted her little one to be exposed to the German children’s songs and rhymes she knew and loved from her childhood. But not only with her and her husband at home and the grandmas and grandpas on Skype, but with other kids, moms and dads here in New York.
That is how the idea for “MusiKinderlein New York” was born.
