German School Brooklyn is the first German International School in New York City providing bilingual education.
GSB opened its doors in September 2014 in the heart of Brooklyn at Grand Army Plaza, right across from Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum and Botanic Garden.
GSB is currently offering grades K-4. They will grow one grade per year until the final diploma (planned: IB English/German and High School diploma).
Dual-language instruction in English and German
Small class size of fewer than 20 students
Two additional foreign languages starting in Grade 3 and Grade 6 respectively
Focus on fine arts – music, art and theater courses
School hours from 8:30 am -3:30 pm (with option for all-day supervision from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
Education based on the best parts of German, American and international curricula, with emphasis on encouragement of independence, sense of responsibility and development of personality.
Collaborating with educational service provider Schulexpert/Deutsche Fernschule (www.schulexpert.de).
