CityKinder Summer Immersion Program
THE PROGRAM:
Our German immersion language program will be facilitated by our experienced teachers Sabine Heubusch and Uta Friedman. *
Drawing on Sabine Heubusch's unique background in early childhood education, music, dance, yoga and Alexander Technique the classes teach German with a strong emphasison music, movement and arts.
Each week the focus will be on a different topic. You can choose to have your child participate for the entire program, or only a week at a time.
The core program will take place from 9:00AM - 12:00PM
Age range: 3-6 yrs
Classes typically include circle time with traditional as well as contemporary German songs common in German & Austrian Pre-schools and Kindergartens. Children also act out stories and songs while Sabine will play the piano, guitar or recorder. Social skill building group games, engaging story time, inspiring art projects, as well as free play to spur your child's imagination are also part of the curriculum.
If the class size exceeds 8 kids there might be periods when Sabine and Uta work separately with the children, either divided by age/skills or by interest. An additional assistant may be added depending on the age structure. Also, depending on the age of the children, the maximum class size will be 10-12.
We are offering an extended day option from 12PM - 3PM faciitated by Uta Friedman. Children will break for lunch and enjoy some free playtime. After consultation with parents (and depending on the age) the kids could spend some time outdoors and or play various games available to them. There is also the opportunity for self-guided art projects.

TIME:
9am- 12pm for five consecutive days per week (early drop-off 8:30am possible)
Our summer program will run over the course of five weeks in July & August and is going to meet 5 days per week from 9am to 12pm, with an option to extend until 3:00pm. The drop-off option 8:30 is available at $10 per day. In case a child cannot be picked up by 3:00pm we can assist finding a German speaking babysitter if desired. We can also help you in case you are looking to share with another family.

July 16 - 20: Farbe, Kunst und Kleckse
July 23 - 27: Alles, was krabbelt - Insekten unter der Lupe.
August 13-17: Abrakadabra: Feen, Hexen, Zauberer
August 20-24: Unterwasserwelten
Topics may be subject to change based on number and age of children.

LOCATION:
Depending on the number of children the program will take place in a spacious private residence in Battery Park City with access to a community outdoor terrace or at Battery Park Day Nursery.

TUITION & REGISTRATON:
9:00am - 12:00pm: $300 per week
9:00am - 3:00pm: $500 per week (please email us directly for registration, if interested in this option)
