"Since its launch at its Midtown location my almost 2 year old and I have been attending "Lieder & Geschichten" with Barbara. My little-one loves going there. When I say "Komm, wir gehen spielen mit Brabara!" and start singing one of her songs ("Hoppe, hoppe Reiter...") he starts scrambling for his coat. Barbara has a beautiful voice and almost acts out the German stories she reads to the kids. Beside reading stories, we sing the "old" German Kinderlieder that I grew up with. In addition we dance in circles and try some tumbling while counting, naming body parts, the clothes we wear and so on - all in German of course! While I speak German to my children at home, I feel that it is important to meet with other German speakers, so the children hear German spoken, sung, rhymed by other people as well.
