The Role:

As the Director of Care & Development for your Area, you will be a Relationship Manager.  You are responsible for the customer experience on the program. You build and maintain relationships with Care Professionals, families, and Community Liaisons, give personalized advice, share your experience, mentor and develop Care Professionals and build rapport. You successfully onboard families to be great household employers, coaching them and helping them put systems in place for a successful match. You maintain contact throughout the placement to act as a resource to the host parents, offering them valuable advice on how to manage and retain their Care Professional for as long as possible. You act as an Ambassador of Apex Social Group’s Vision and Mission. You drive loyalty by ensuring an exceptional customer experience. You display positive energy with customers, Community Liaisons, and fellow team members. You contribute to the company’s financial success by building referrals, extensions, and customer retention and by mitigating issues and financial exceptions. You are continuously improving our processes to prevent recurring issues in the future.

Responsibilities Include:

Deliver an Exceptional Customer Experience

Lead, manage and hold accountable a Care Professional team and Host Family team in your region to deliver an exceptional customer experience at every touch point.
Provide Care Professional development by understanding each Care Professional’s personal and professional goals, mentoring and creating valuable connections with them to ensure long-term retention.
Promote Care Professional engagement in the Apex Social community, sharing their experience with friends and teachers as they “pay it forward” sharing their satisfaction with others.
Support and coach Host Families to ensure that their match with a Care Professional is a success. Conduct host family interviews and monthly calls.
Lead placement change management with the goal of 100% customer retention for qualified Host Families and Care Professionals.
Lead your team to strive for the goal of lifetime engagement with Apex Social through knowing each customer, what is important to them, and developing an individual action plan if their needs are not being met.
Build a relationship with each Care Professional starting at the time they match with a Family in your area. Engage with them regarding their personal and professional goals and Individualized Care Plan.
Conduct workshops & coaching calls at least once per month with each Care Professional throughout the duration of their US placement to ensure their development, gather feedback, find out how their expectation and goals were met, and help identify further development opportunities via volunteering, classes, work in the family and with the interdisciplinary team of their host family and transition them as candidates for the Apex Social Career Center and Alumni Network once they know a final end date of their time in the US.
Onboard Host Families prior to the placement start date, preparing them to be great household employers, and helping them put systems in place for a successful match. You maintain contact throughout the placement to act as a resource to the host parents, offering them valuable advice on how to manage and retain their Care Professional for as long as possible. Engage with them monthly regarding their Apex Individualized Care Plan (AICP).

Training and Development

Recruit, onboard, and develop Community Liaisons that provide value and demonstrate Apex Social core values and support Apex Social’s vision & mission.
Lead a Care Professional Ambassador group for reward and engagement including developing a buddy/mentor network for new arrivals.
Host creative meet-ups for Care Professionals to give opportunities for team-building and engagement.
Support the Operations team as they ensure compliance in your region.


Promote the extension program to Care Professionals and lead one-on-one sales/coaching calls to show how the program can benefit their professional development and personal goals.  Meet extension goals.
Encourage Host Family retention by delivering an exceptional experience and understanding the key needs of each client so you can help them make the best decision to meet their continued childcare needs at the time of renewal.
Speak with each Host Family monthly to gather feedback on their experience, provide coaching and prepare them for either extension or matching with a new Care Professional.
Build Host Family and Care Professional referrals.

Team Participation

Contribute to a positive and respectful culture by demonstrating professional communication and collaboration at all times with team members, host families, and Care Professionals.
Take on extra projects as needed.
On-call manager duties one weekend per month and one holiday per year.



Previous leadership experience is required.
Excellent communication (both written and verbal).
Staffing management experience preferred.
Understanding of the special needs community and the needs and challenges of parents with special needs is required.
“Entrepreneurial minded” – eager to grow a book of business.
Demonstrated interest in travel abroad and cultural exchange.
Great “people connector” with a passion for engaging and having fun.
Skilled at mediation, listening, and staying calm in the face of conflict.
Proficient at using technology and social media for networking and staying organized
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Fluent in English & German.
Proven ability to work as a team player and a self-starter who can work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Must be able to work in a virtual environment via telecommuting over high-speed internet access in a quiet and dedicated workspace free from background noise such that the performance of duties is done in the most professional manner.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
