Lieder & Geschichten

"Lieder und Geschichten" is designed to expose young children (age 6 months to 3yrs) to German using songs, finger plays, "Kniereiter" and stories. According to the children's need to explore and test their boundaries physically, the class incorporates galloping, crawling and hopping like a bunny. Barbara, a former dancer, also teaches parents to assist their little ones doing their first forward rolls (Purzelbaum), monkey jumps... The instructors will safely support your child in whatever he is trying out at the moment. We will then sit down and read a stimulating picture book. And towards the end, when the recorder comes out, the kids will be all "ears and eyes" to listen to a beautiful, quiet German lullaby.
Lieder & Geschichten encourages both child and parent to have fun with rhythm and language, a wonderful inspiration to be continued at home and hopefully the beginning of your child’s life-long connection to the German language!

Manhattan: $360 for 12 weeks
