German School Brooklyn hosted their first Summer Gala Fundraising Event on Monday, June 13th at the Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Around 130 guests attended the elegant affair at the beautiful location overlooking the skyline of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty (the sunset was amazing!). Read more
Karsten Staiger kam 1995 mit $500, zwei Taschen und einer Gitarre nach New York. Drei Jahre später heiratete er eine Amerikanerin, und baute zusammen mit ihr eines der ersten digitalen Fotostudios der Stadt auf. Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss und Lufthansa sind nur einige der Namen auf der langen Liste seiner Kunden. 2009 kam seine Tochter Skyler zur Welt. Karstens Fotoausstellung „Love Story New York“ mit großformatigen Aufnahmen, die er in atemberaubender Höhe von New Yorker Dächern aus schießt, ist noch bis zum 1. Juli im Deutschen Konsulat zu sehen.
On Monday, June 6, 2016, Tomoko Masur, wife of the late Maestro Kurt Masur, and White Plains, New York Mayor Tom Roach cut the ribbon on Masur Drive on the campus of German International School New York. GISNY chose the name of the new street to honor the many contributions the entire Masur family has made to the school and to the greater Westchester County, NY community.
German International School New York (GISNY) is pleased to announced that it recently completed the rigorous accreditation renewal process with New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) and once again was recommended for accreditation. NYSAIS is authorized by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools’ (NAIS) Commission on Accreditation.
