German Paper Theater: Like Master, Like Dog

Join us for a fun theater event in German:

Berliner Papiertheater "Schnurzpiepegal" - a paper theater show out of a suitcase with live music.

Story:

While walking through the streets and the parks of a city, one can see that all the dogs look like their owners.  But there are some exceptions:

Leonora loves operas more than anything and shares a happy life with her dog Fidelio, who doesn’t look like her at all. Two blocks from their home lives another odd couple, Joshua and his dog Pistachia, who share a passion for home made chocolates.  These two are happy with each other, too.  In the street people wrinkle their noses and laugh about Leonora and Joshua who don’t match with their dogs at all.  But they don’t care.  Well, not exactly…

One day, the two pairs meet in the park by chance, and it becomes obvious what they have to do: exchange their dogs.  Everything fits well.  But still, they are not happy. Quite the contrary: All four of them become more and more sad and can’t really tell why.  Until the day they meet for a second time…

A humorous love story about outsiders who overcome their loneliness and people’s prejudices by accepting themselves.

Click here for a short trailer of the show.

Showtime: About 30 minutes followed by a moderated question and answer session with the artists

Age Group: 4 years +

St. Paul's Church - Sommerfest in White Plains - June 23rd
