German International School New York is hosting a one day Arts & Crafts Fair featuring international artists from the school community (parents, staff and students).  There will be a large range of media from paintings, pastels and photography as well as ceramics, jewelry and wood,  just to name a few.  Join us for the opening ceremony at 11.30 a.m. and allow yourself a little time, perhaps a lot of time, to explore the distinctive items and lovely gifts that can only be found here.  Light refreshments and snacks are available for sale.

Opening Ceremony: German School Brooklyn

On Monday, September 22nd, the German School Brooklyn held their official Opening Ceremony with students, parents, and officials in attendants. After several short speeches and heart-warming performances by the students the Consul General of New York, Ms. Brita Wagener and the Head of Cultural Affairs, Mr. Jakob von Wagner handed out the traditional German “Schultuete” . Read more in the official report of the German Consulate.

Germans in US needed for paid research study

MIKADO marketing and Advertising company is looking for focus groups/online surveys participants for a market research project on “German Consumers” in the US. Participants need to fulfill the following criteria:
- Born in Germany
- Resides in the US not more than 8 years
- Send money regularly back home to their country (Germany)

The objective of the study is to get to know the consumer habits of Germans living here and what money transfer companies they use. There is a focus group study as well as on-line or phone survey options. Participation is compensated.
